2024 Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Glencoe Park Recreation District for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending February 28, 2023.

2023 Agency Showcase Winner: Best Website

The Agency Showcase, presented by the Illinois Park & Recreation Association (IPRA) and the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD), is a spirited competition spotlighting bright ideas exhibited by park, recreation and conservation agencies. This professionally judged competition recognizes Illinois agencies for their marketing and communication efforts ranging from print to multimedia. The Glencoe Park District was awarded first place for their website at the IPRA/IAPD Soaring to New Heights Conference in January of 2024.

2019 NRPA Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management

The Aaa rating (the highest rating available) will allow Glencoe Park District to issue debt at the lowest possible interest rate as the organization has proven itself to be among the top tier of local governments in terms of financial strength, both in Illinois and nationally. More

2017 NSSRA Shining Star Partner of the Year

Glencoe Park District received NSSRA's Partner Agency of the Year award for their extraordinary support of NSSRA's programs, housing Rec N' Roll Monday - Thursday afternoons, Friday night social programs season after season, and special events. Glencoe also provides spaces regularly for staff training, always welcoming the NSSRA team with a friendly and collaborative hand.

2017 IPRA/IAPD Professional of the Year: Lisa Sheppard

The Illinois Park & Recreation Association (IPRA) honored Lisa Sheppard with the 2017 IPRA Professional Award. The Professional Award is given to the nominee who has made an impact in the parks and recreation industry and made a significant impact in the community they serve.

2019 Public Beach Protection Pilot Program

The Army Corps of Engineers has approved the Pilot Project for Section 1122 for communities in Glencoe, Lake Bluff, North Chicago, and Evanston! More

2017 Power Play Grant Recipient

The Power Play program grant from the Illinois Association of Park District in 2017 in the amount of $1,000 was awarded to incorporate the Power Play Program, which is designed to energize today's youth through health, nutrition, and fitness.

2016 Liza's Gazebo Gift

An anonymous donor gave $10,000 toward upgrading Liza's Gazebo at Kalk Park.

2015 Melvin Berlin Park Donation

Glencoe resident Andrew Berlin donated $1,000,000 to renovate Central Park in honor of his father, Melvin Berlin

Friends of Bruce Kaminski at Watts Park donated by Glencoe Baseball Association $7,500
