Green Bay Trail Update

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has awarded the Green Bay Trail Crossing at Hazel Avenue improvement project to Alliance Contractors of Woodstock, IL. The contractor and IDOT are developing a project schedule, which will be shared when available.
In preparation for the crossing improvement project, the Village and Park District are coordinating the construction of a shared use path connection from Kalk Park to the northern limits of the crossing improvement project. This work is scheduled to commence the week of August 8 and completion is expected the week of August 15. Bicycle traffic on the Green Bay Trail may be detoured intermittently during construction.
The proposed improvement to this crossing is designed to mitigate conflicts between pedestrians and cyclists, improve the tight turns that currently exist at Hazel Avenue and achieve ADA compliance.
