District 35 Remote Learning Shift

Friday, November 20, 2020

District 35 administration and school board decided on November 19 to shift students to a full remote learning model November 30-January 15.

Following the Tier 3 mitigations, the Glencoe Park District will continue to provide childcare for Glencoe families with Children’s Circle and Kids Club Essential Enrichment Camp. With District 35’s shift to remote learning, participants in Kids Club Essential Enrichment Camp will be offered care during school day hours November 30-January 15.  For an extra $10 per day, current Kids Club Essential Enrichment Camp participants can get care from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. Families that are not enrolled in Kids Club Essential Enrichment Camp that are interested in the program may contact [email protected] to inquire about available space.

The Early Learning Center (ELC) preschool will follow District’s 35 school guidelines. Glencoe Park District will offer a virtual preschool program for ELC students November 30-January 15, including a 30-minute virtual circle time, take-home activities, and online specialty lessons.

Under Tier 3 mitigations, all indoor recreation and sports activities at the Glencoe Park District paused beginning Friday, November 20. Outdoor activities, including skating at Watts ice rinks, will continue with limited capacity.

“We will continue to track the State’s mitigation measures and inform you as things change,” said Lisa Sheppard, Executive Director. “As always, thank you for your ongoing patience, support, and flexibility as we collectively navigate this pandemic together.”
