Phase 2 of the Lakefront Park Bluff Stabilization and Ramp Improvements to Begin

Construction for the second phase of the Bluff Stabilization and Access Road Improvements will begin on Monday, September 11. This portion of the project, a joint effort between the Village of Glencoe and The Glencoe Park District, will feature:
- A new retaining wall on the downslope/east side of the ramp. This retaining wall will be of similar construction to the wall that was formed during phase one.
- New asphalt, curbing and sewers from the Halfway House down to the Water Plant gate.
- Drainage improvements at the top of the bluff in Lakefront Park and along the Hazel Ramp to control surface water/stormwater movement.
In September, during normal construction hours (Mon-Fri 7AM-4PM), the Hazel ramp and lower ramp accesses will be closed periodically but will remain open outside of construction hours and on weekends.
In October, the lower ramp from the halfway house down to the beach landing will be closed for an extended period of time while the asphalt work is taking place. We will share more details about the timing and duration of this portion of work when it becomes available.
