Celebrate Independence Day in Glencoe

We're celebrating Independence Day with a fun run, preschool and family games, a parade, and live music! All activities are free and open to the public! 

Please note, due to the ongoing pandemic, fireworks will not take place on July 4. Please join us on  Friday, September 3 for Summer's Last Blast, featuring live music by The Empty Pockets and a fireworks show at Lakefront Park. The fun starts at 6 PM.  

Glencoe Beach will be open to season pass holders only on July 4th from 10 AM to 7 PM. A steel drum band will perform live music from 1-4 PM at the beach. Other activities include: 

Rotary Fun Run, 8 AM, Glencoe Train Station

Meet us at the Glencoe Train Station for a 2-mile fun run! All ages welcome, optional $5-10 donation to benefit Glencoe Rotary causes.  

Preschool Games, 9-11 AM, Kalk Park

Free games and activities for our preschool friends will take place in the shade at Kalk Park.

Family Games, 11 AM-1 PM, Kalk Park

Play musical chairs, make a TP mummy, and take part in silly races designed to get the whole family laughing! The fun will start at 11 am in front of Liza’s Gazebo in Kalk Park.

Village Independence Day Parade, 1 PM, Downtown Glencoe

Watch as neighbors and community groups parade through downtown Glencoe! The parade will kick-off at 1 PM at Central School and weave down Vernon Avenue to Park Avenue, ending at Village Hall. 

Steel Drums at the Beach, 1-4 PM, Glencoe Beach (Season Pass Holders Only)

Glencoe Beach will be open to season pass holders 10 AM-7 PM on July 4. A steel drum band will play on the sand from 1-4 PM for season pass holders to enjoy.
