PARK Ordinances

In order to provide safe, accessible, and entertaining parks for all, please abide by the following regulations. Failure to do so may result in expulsion, fines, and/or arrest. A complete list of park ordinances can be found here (Ordinance #700).

  • While enjoying the park, please respect its use by others.
  • Consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
  • Leash and pick up after all pets.
  • Pets are not permitted on the playground area or sports fields. They are not allowed on Glencoe Beach during the summer months, May 15-September 15.
  • Roller blades and skateboards are not permitted on or near the playground.
  • Bicycles, tricycles, scooters, or similar vehicles should not be used on the playground. Please park them in the bike rack.
  • The use of low-speed electric scooters (e-scooters) on Park District property is strictly prohibited and is not an intended or permitted use of any Park District property, including but not limited to public sidewalks, trails and rights-of-way.  
  • Drones on park district property are not permitted.
  • Parents are responsible for the supervision and conduct of their children at all times.
  • Please use your discretion as to your child’s physical ability to use any of the playground equipment.
  • Games and sports are allowed in designated areas only.
  • Motorized vehicles left after closing will be towed at the owner’s expense.
  • Loitering in the parking lot is not allowed.
  • Hunting and firearms are not allowed.
  • To preserve nature, please stay on the marked trails.
  • Metal detectors of any kind are not allowed in the parks.
  • Golfing is not permitted in the parks.
  • Organized league games or practices are not permitted without a permit.
  • Smoking or vaping is not allowed on or within 25 feet of any playground, sports field, shelter or structure and at any outdoor special events.
  • Marijuana is not permitted in the parks.
