Meet Your Coach: Al Flores
Hello! I'm Al Flores, and I'm excited to welcome you to the Glencoe Park District Walk Run Club. My passion for running began in high school and has since become a vital part of my life, helping me relieve stress and push my limits. After a short hiatus, I resumed running at 45 and gradually progressed through various distances, from 5 Ks to marathons. Since 2006, I've run a marathon every year. Now, I'm thrilled to share this journey with you.

What is the Walk Run Club?
The Walk Run Club is about getting active and socializing with like-minded individuals. It's a family-friendly environment where members support each other and form lasting connections.

  • Meeting Point: Takiff Center (999 Green Bay Road, Glencoe IL)
  • Time: Saturdays at 8:00 AM (starting April 12)
  • Route: Primarily Green Bay Trail, will also mix it up, running through Glencoe neighborhoods, scenic Sheridan Road, or the Des Plaines River Trail
  • Distances: 3 miles is the standard, but you can choose from 1, 2, 3, or even up to 8 miles

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced runner, there's a group at your pace and mileage goals. And rest assured, no one gets left behind.
