In addition, the task force will consider pedestrian safety along the beach access drive and determine whether any additional measures should be considered.

The task force will receive information on current parking conditions, usage patterns, and operational considerations. The group will evaluate potential options, consider the impacts of any proposed changes on residents and beach users, and seek to balance access, safety, neighborhood impacts, and community needs.

We are seeking no more than 9 Glencoe residents representing various areas of the community. A Village Trustee and a Park District Board Member will serve as co-chairs and are not included in the 9 members.

This will be a short-term task force that will conclude its work no later than January 2027. Any recommendations developed by the task force will be advisory in nature and presented to the respective Boards for consideration. The Village Board retains final authority over any parking-related changes within the Village. The Park District retains final authority over any beach operations changes. Any recommendations regarding modifications to the beach access drive will be subject to review and approval by both the Village Board and the Park District Board.

We are looking for task force members who possess critical thinking skills, are collaborative, representative of different stakeholder groups, and are willing to focus on solutions rather than simply advocate for a single position.
