Highlights from the 2026 Community Impact Report

The Glencoe Park District has released its 2026 Community Impact Report, a publication produced every two years that demonstrates how the district is working to create memorable experiences for Glencoe residents. This latest report showcases the district's continued commitment to enriching lives, fostering well-being, and providing exceptional parks, programs, and facilities.

In her letter to residents, Executive Director Lisa Sheppard expressed enthusiasm for the community's incredible engagement. "Your support and participation are the cornerstones of our success," she wrote. The vision outlined in the Let's Play Glencoe Comprehensive Plan is truly coming to life, with significant strides made this year, including renovations at Milton Park, Shelton Park, and West Park.

Projects from the 2024 referendum are also underway, including:

  • Construction of a new greenhouse at Shelton Park
  • Renovation of the Takiff Ballfield
  • Construction of a new Park Maintenance Center
  • Renovations at Glencoe Beach

A Commitment to Excellence
The Glencoe Park District is proud to be recognized as one of the elite park and recreation agencies in the United States. The report highlights impressive metrics:

  • 94% of staff are proud to work at the Glencoe Park District
  • 87% of residents feel the district properly represents and includes them and their households
  • 96% of residents reported they had been to a Park District park or facility in the last year

Looking Ahead
Exciting projects are on the horizon, including planning for a new playground at Friends Park with construction expected in 2027. As residents continue to share their input, the district remains focused on being the most innovative, customer-driven, and sustainable park district for current and future generations.
