Description
Shelton Park is located on Old Green Bay Road between Harbor and South Avenues. This park features the Green Bay Trail, Phil Thomas Memorial Playground, a gazebo, a tennis court, two pickleball courts, and picnic tables. The Glencoe Community Garden is adjacent to the park. A public greenhouse will be added to the park in spring 2026.
Tennis and Pickleball: Residents and Tennis Instructors are required to purchase a permit if they wish to teach private/semi-private lessons on Park District courts. This is limited to 3 or fewer students. The permit is $200 for the season. Instructors must provide an approved Certificate of Insurance. Court reservations are required to guarantee court time. The playground was last renovated in 2016.
The tennis and pickleball courts, along with the gazebo and walking path, were refurbished in 2025.
A public greenhouse will open in 2026.
