New Tier 3 Mitigations

The Governor announced that the state of Illinois will be moving into Tier 3 mitigations on Friday, November 20. The announcement includes an order to pause indoor recreation activities.

Glencoe Park District program managers have contingency plans in place and will be contacting program participants by the end of the day with those plans. Updates will also be posted to our website as information becomes available.

Tier 3 allows for essential childcare and preschool, which includes Children’s Circle, Early Learning Center, and Kids Club Camp, to continue to operate following guidelines supplied by DCFS and the IDPH

Outdoor activities, including skating at Watts ice rinks, will continue with limited capacity. The state’s guidelines, as it relates to general Park District operations, are  outlined here.

New Watts Waitlist

Opens at 7 PM October 29

Tuesday, October 27, 2020

Thank you for your continued support of Watts Ice Center. Unfortunately, our season passes sold out before many of our neighbors were able to purchase a pass. We understand and share your frustrations with COVID-19 restrictions.

Current state guidelines stipulate 50% capacity or 50 people or fewer at a facility. This equates to 50 people on the main rink and 25 people on the studio rink.

Please know that the high demand for season passes caused us to re-evaluate and increase our public skate offerings. For this reason, we will re-open the waitlist on Thursday, October 29 at 7 pm. If passes are issued, it will be in the order they are received. There is no guarantee that anyone on the waitlist will get a season pass. We will continue to monitor restrictions and expand pass sales as appropriate.

To adhere to the limited capacity, we are requiring pass holders to make a skate time slot reservation in advance. The reservation system is designed to provide confidence to our pass holders to know when and where they will be able to use their pass. For more details on restrictions on passes and reservations, please visit our Watts FAQ page.

If COVID-19 restrictions change, we will communicate how those changes affect your season pass, waitlist status, or the availability of more passes.

Thank you for your understanding during these uncertain times. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@glencoeparkdistrict.com or (847) 835-3030.

2020 Great Mud Run Canceled

The Glencoe Park District has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Great Mud Run, planned for Saturday, September 12. After evaluating the feasibility of large gatherings this fall, it was determined that the health and safety of our runners, volunteers, staff, partners, and spectators could not be guaranteed.

While we are unbelievably disappointed to cancel this much-loved Glencoe tradition, we hope you will mark your calendars for the 2021 Mud Run!
