Kids’ Chalk Art Contest Held at Takiff on Saturday, July 11

Next Saturday, July 11, the Glencoe Park District will participate in Illinois’ Unplug & Play campaign! This one-day event is held to encourage Glencoe residents to ditch their electronic devices and plug into fun and activities available at the Park District.

The Glencoe Park District is hosting a chalk art contest from 10 AM-12 PM in Takiff’s back parking lot. Participants will be encouraged to illustrate how they unplug – with exercise, books, walks, playing in parks, or however they find happiness away from electronics! All contestants’ drawings will be photographed, with the winner selected via a Facebook poll and awarded a Park District swag bag! Click HERE to sign up to attend!

Chalk art can also completed at home and submitted online. Applicants should send images with their name and contact information to internrec@glencoeparkdistrict.com by 1PM on July 11. Winners will be contacted later that day.

Participants are asked to bring their own chalk and should wear face masks when walking to and from their assigned location. All participants will be assigned a spot at least 6-feet away from other families. Current Restore Illinois Phase 4 guidelines limit parks to a maximum of 50 people at the same time.
